A system for climate-neutral utilisation of biogenic residues

Using state-of-the-art TCR® technology, the Biorefinery completely utilises organic waste. This produces renewable energy sources, usable raw materials and measurable CO2 savings – directly at the point of origin.

Certifiable

Supports sustainability targets, CO2 balances and taxonomy-compliant reporting. Taps into potential for CO2 certificates and subsidies.

Energetic

Three end products – bio-oil, synthesis gas and mineral solids – are used directly as process energy for industry, agriculture or energy generation.

Carbon-binding

Pyrolysis technology prevents CO2 emissions and stores carbon permanently in the solid residue – a contribution to climate protection.

Developed for challenging biogenic waste streams

The Biorefinery processes large quantities of complex waste – especially waste that entails high disposal costs, hygiene risks or logistical challenges. This turns problematic materials into an economic resource.

  • Sewage sludge
  • Slaughterhouse waste & animal by-products
  • Biogenic residues from industry & production
  • Sargassum (brown algae)
  • Press residues & biomass from the agricultural industry
  • Packaged food waste & supermarket returns

Waste avoidance and recyclable material production intelligently combined

The input volume of biogenic waste can be utilised by up to 100% in terms of materials and energy thanks to the Biorefinery. Instead of disposal, recyclable products are created – this not only reduces transport and landfill costs, but also transforms environmental pollution into economic benefits.

7t/day

Stable biochar is produced from up to 50 residual materials - for carbon sequestration, soil improvement or industrial utilisation.

720litres/day

Pyrolysis oil is a high-quality, CO2-neutral energy source that can be utilised directly, processed further or used as a fuel base.

500kg/h

The pyrolyser continuously processes up to 500kg of organic waste per hour - ideal for industrial applications with high input volumes.

High technology in the material cycle with a system – from pellets to energy

The Biorefinery completely converts organic residues into energy, oil and biochar in a multi-stage high-temperature process. Each step is precisely controlled – for maximum yield, minimum emissions and a genuine circular economy.

Pelletisation & inert storage

Organic residues are pelletised in advance to ensure consistent quality and optimum reaction properties. The pellets are then temporarily stored in an inert container in the absence of oxygen.

Pelletisation

Feed & screw conveyor

A calibrated screw conveyor transports the pellets precisely into the reactor. The throughput can be flexibly adjusted between 150 kg/h and 500 kg/h.

Feed

Auger reactor

In the rotating screw reactor, the material is thermally decomposed at approx. 450 °C in the absence of oxygen. The residence time is 7-15 minutes. Two fractions are produced: Solid carbon (Char) and pyrolysis gases and vapours

Auger reactor

Post-gasification in the post-reformer

The carbon produced is automatically transferred to a vertically arranged post-reactor. There it is heated up to 750 °C. The previously generated vapours flow through this hot carbon bed and are catalytically converted there - a key step for the high purity and energy efficiency of the end products.

Post-gasification

Product fractions & further utilisation

The process produces biochar with high carbon sequestration as well as pyrolysis oil with high calorific value and syngas, which can be used as an energy source or further processed for H2 separation.
